The best approach is to do this little by little by incorporating some simple routines. One good way of doing this is use a dim light and play soft music when it is time to sleep. Over time your baby will come to associate the dim light and music with bed time. This could be combined with a bath to help your baby start to relax prior to bed.
If you find your baby is sleeping a lot during the day, do not lower the blinds completely and don't worry about making a little noise. In this way, your baby will get used to the daytime and everything that involves. Just act as normal as possible during the day but make sure everything is quiet and relaxed at night. Little by little your baby will begin to get used to the routine and you too will have a great nights sleep.
